Trade Union Congress at Dublin ■ .debated -cost of living and the proposed all-round reductions in wages. The executive coinhaled official estimates of the pres;nt cost of living, which, it was contended, were 178 per cent above the pre-war rates, compared with the official figure of 132.
The chairman declared that there would very shortly occur one of the ' greatest upheavals in the history of the Irish labour movements. One delegate proposed taking up the employers’ challenge en masse, adding; “That means facing the possibility of social revolution.’’ ■
