The piecegooda merchants, tit the invitation of Gli&ndi, met !o discuss whether they were prepared to take a vow to deal in country-made piece goods only and abstain from ordering piece goods from foreign countries. As a result of theuneeting so far only six out of forty merchants have taken the vow. The others have not yet made a decision.
