The Lord Mayor of Newcastle-on-Tyne -is inaugurating relief measures for hungry children. The Bristol trade union council is distributing 2s weekly for each miner’s chiid. VAST ARMY OF UNEMPLOYED In the House of Commons, Mr Macnamara announced that 1,677. 000 unemployed had been registered at the labour exchanges, while 964,000 additional are receiving doles because they are working short time. The Admiralty announces that it is discharging ten thousand dockyard employees during the current financial year.
