TOUR OF MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS
Rough Journey From Napier To Gisborne • (Per Piess Association.) Gisborne, June 8 Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, arrived at Gis borne this morning, having travelled overland from Napier. The Minister describes the journey, which was made during the rain, as one of the roughest he lias experienced. There were numerous slips and trees across the road, which the Minister, wifb a long-liaudled shovel asistecl in clearing. M'-Co&tes was accorded a civic reception this morning, after which he received ■deputations from various parts" of the district as far north as Mata■kaoa County, East Coast. The Minister continues his overland ■journey to Opotiki to-morrow.
