Harbour Traffic Bridge (To tYio Editor). Sir :—A warning to the Burgesses of Tauranga—Be careful how you interfere with the present plans of the Public Works Department, re railway construction. It will only .ead to indefinite delay. Remember these, plans were drawn up in accordance with the suggestions of your city fathers. The interest in the ~ost .of .construction of a light railway or concrete road has to be guaranteed by a compulsory tax on the properties affected by the improvement. A traffic bridge across your harbour is going- to transform agricultural land at so much an acre into city property at so much a foot. Certainly the interest on the cost of construction of this improvement should be borne by the properties affected, Is the construction of our railway bridge to be held up indefinitely " while all these knotty points are settled? Please consider well before interfering with present plans. I am. etc. j. G. Green Tauranga, June9, 1920
