Both engines had their buffers and cow(atctier3 broken. The standupr engine was also considerably knocked abut otherwise. There were a considerable number of passengers en the train but none sustained any injuries.

The engine driver, iireman and guard coDvierned in tho points being left open, have bom suspended, pending an official inquiry wh.ich;wiil be held by Mr Hannah at his office to-morrow.
