NATIONAL VOLUNTARY ECONOMY CAMPAIGN.
During this period of strain acd stress caused by the war, it is of tbe Utmost importance that economies in «mU things, as well au large, should be sternly and rigidly practised. Vast financial obligations have bcun asiumed by the Dominion in assisting the Empire. Further obligations lie before us. At every point, tberefoie, •tbehoDes the population cif New Zealand to prepare for the further trials that await us. That the proposals of this association go in tbe direction of arising heads of families and others how to save in small things, and it is ia the multitude of little ecsnomies thit'our national tendency should go. The responsibility of economy in larS«r things rests with tbe Gaverumert and the local bodies. I warmly commend the practical effort being made to atiisulate and encourage national thrift.
