R. Williams and Mrs Mellish forwarded 1 apologia for non-attendance, The Treasurer, Mr H. a. Iluiifil], was also unable to attend, beiny out of town. The Major explained that the meeting had been called to complete arrangements for collecting for the Fund. Collection lists had already been sent to Mr G. V. Stewart, Kati kati, Mr Montgomery for Te Puke, Mrs Munro, President <<f the Ta Puna Patriotic League, ami to Mr Souttey, Chairman of trie County Cuur.cil. The Borough was divided into districts and canvassers allotted as follow a : — No. 1, Syit.to McLean Street—Stall Capt. Moore and others to be arranged No. 2, McLean Strett to Spring Street-W. T. Teasey, J. Torrance, H A. Sharp, A. Brown. No. 3, Spring Street to First Avenue—The Mayor and Mr Kbley. No. 4, First Avenue to Fifth Aye nue— Mr B. (J. Robbina and others to be arranged. No. 5, Fifth Avenue to Tenth Avenue—Col. Ward and Alias Aildy. No. 6, Tenth Avenue to Borough boundary—Mr Davidson and Miss Adams. The boundaries are to be the centre of the streets mentioned in each instance, except Hospital Street. Mr Law undertook with the help of his staff to collect what was possible from the school chilrden. Captain Medland intimated that herself and Lieut. Bryan would ba willing to assist anyone in the canvassing. It was resolved that the -canvass should start 0.-i Wednesday next, February 6tb. It was also decided tbat "Flag" days be held on Friday und Saturday, February Bth and 9th, the niijiiwum prive for the "flags" iv ha 3d, Mr Law to arrange the details.
