German Chancellor to Speak in Reichstag To-day.
Australian aud N Z Cable Assoo. lice Jan 25, 8 45 a vi Amsterdam Jan 24 •A speech by Baron voii Hertliug (German Chancellor) will be delivered to-morrow iv the lleichstag iv reply to President Wilson's and Mr Lloyd George's statements. The speech is awaited with growing interest in Germany. Baron yon Hertling and l)r Kuhlmaun (Geruiiui Foreign Minister) had a further audience with the Kaiser. Dr Kubltnann received the Reichstag leaders and informed-them of the course of the Russian negotiations.
The Frankfurter Zctcung urges Biiron yon Hertling'to clearly state his intentions regarding i3elgium, with a view to counter-acting the effect of the Entente declarations.
Ihe Mannheim Volkstirnme demands a similar declaration, adding " The Entente Statesmen are cleverly using the weakness of tbe German policy. Wo admit that; the Central Governments cannot longer evade the announcement of their war aims."
