The Midland Scottish express from London ran into a landslide ul Lezitby, in Cumberland, Tin engine overturned, and th 3 carriages were teJe9coped. Six were killed and about twenty injured. The train was travelling at full Bpeed in the dusk, when the driver noticed a Luge bank dropping on to the line. Tbe engine became embedded in it, and was derailed, whi\e the heavy train forced the foremast coach at rig-..1, atigles serosa the rail*, and smashed it to atoms, Heroic rescue and first aid work was done by military officers and curses aboard.
