Meeting of Domain Board.

A- meeting of the Mount Maimganui Domain Board was held -in the Borough Council Chambers ou Monday evening last. The Chairman (Mr J. C. Adams) presided and Messrs Crovvley, Robbins, Macmillan, Crichton, Peraberton and Whiting also attended. A complaint was received from a resident of the 'Mount that sheep running ou the Domain were continually getting out and becoming a nuisance. It was resolved that the lessee of the Domain be requested to see that the sheep are kept within the Domain. Ihe Under-Secretory for Lands Wrote stating thai under sections 33 (g) and 37 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, the Mount Maungacui Domain Board has authority to expend domain funds in improving the wharf by which access is obtained to the Domain. There is therefore no legal objection to the Board epending ,£2O of its funds in assisting to extend the wharf and erect a shed las proposed by the Harbour Board. On the motion of Mr Robbing, seconded by Mr Crowley, the Board accordingly voted £d 3a Gd (the amount short of the contract price) towards tlio work. i The Chairman' reported that men j were now at work doing the necessary feiacing, and he asked authority to employ them for a short time when this was done iv clearing paths and doing other necessary work.—The desired ppnnission was gvant-ed. IVlr Robbins stated fchat complaints were made by visitors to tjhje Domaiu that the shelter shed was being used as a fowl house by a person camping in the vicinity. Mr Whiting stated that he had also heard very strong complaints on the subject. The Chairman promised 'jo see to the matter when he next visited the 'Mount. Mr Robbins said the time had come when some place should be set apart for camping and a charge made. He moved that the Chairman be asked to consider the advisability of framing by-laws to fix sites for campiag and generally controlling ihe use of the Domain and report, to next meeting.—Seconded by Mr vVhiLiug and carried.
