WEATHER ABSTRACT.
Mr C. J. Butcher, weather observer, furnishes us with the .f llowing particulars in regard to the weather, at Tauranga during July, 1917 — Mean maximum temperature 59.5 Mean minimum temperature 42,9 Exireme minimum temperature, 16th ard 28th 63.0 Extreme minimum temperature, 2fith 32.0 Mean temperature for month 51.2 Mean daily range 16.fi Mean daily amount of cloud 6.2 Total rainfall 7.o9iti Number of days on which rain fell 25 Maximum rainfall on 19th 1.47 in The local July aveiage rainfall is 4.71 inches. The month is therefore 2.38 points above the local average, but is not so heavy a fall as in July, 1910, when 7.50 points fell.
