A Thousand Appeals.
Wellington, Dec 4 A thousand notice 3of appeal have beeu received to date from ihe four thousand odd men caJled up under the first ballot. To-day was tiic last day for posting notices of. appeal. The Commandant expects that the balance will be a considerable number. They should all bo received by the end of the present week.
Wellington, Dec 2 ■ Regarding the question of making special provision enabling soidiers to discharge their civil obligations, the Hon. Jas. Allen to-day'stated that the Military Servico*Board^ harl bten requested to make a special report on eases of hardship disclosed as a lesult of appeals on the first ballot. It is hoped in a month's time to place defiuite.proposah before Cabiuft.
