DRIVERS' DISPUTE.
Cabinet's Decision

The Cabinet, to whom the dispute between me diivera and thtir employers was referred for settlercetit, has given the following decision. At the confeienee the delegates agreed to accept whatever couditiens the Cabinet fixed:—
1. That the awards of the Arbitration Court, dated the 28th day of October, 1916, which settle the conditions of the employment of drivers, shall stand unaltered with regard to wages and other conditions. 2. That a war bonus of 6s per week shall be ptiJ to one-horse drivers in sedition to the.minimum wage of £2 12s per week provided Dy the said awards cf the Arbitration Court, aud a similar sutn of 6< par week shall be paid to two-horse r.tivers iti addition to tbe minimum wage of £2 163. Tnua tbe wcges ol one hors-e drivers and twe-hcree diivers, with the sdditiun of the war bonus, sliall not be less than j £2 IS?? and £3 2s p?r week ; tively. 3. That in addition to the minimum wages of £2 15s, £2 17a 6d, aud £3 per week, awarded by the Arbitration Court to drivers of the three different i classes of motor vehicle?, a war bonus !of 5s per week shall be paid. Thus I the weekly wagea of these drivers, i together with the war bonus, shall I rot ba less tha;i £3, £3 2s 6J, £3 5s respectively. SU ||4 'Jhat tbe rrrangement embodied in this minute shall contiaLe for the period of the present war and for three months thereafter. %^- ---5 That the arrangement set forth in this mif.ute shall operate as from Monday, ivoveraber 27, 1916. 6 That this decision of the Cabinet and the arrangement set forth in this minute shall bifid all parties to the several awards of the Abritration Court, dated the 28th diy of October, 1916. J 7,. That should any question arise as to the meaning of any part of tfcia minute it shall be referred to the Minister of Labour for decision.
