British Success in East Africa
Capetown, June 10
General Smuts, commanding the British troops in East Africa, cleared the Faroe Mountains of the enemy. The Union forces now lie below the Uaumbana mountains and the lights of Wilhelmsmal are visible. The celerity of the British movements has disconcerted the enemy, whose attempt to hold th-5 neck of the bottle formed by the Pangani closing in on the Paree mountains failed, despite the favourable terrain.
