Death of Three Men.
Wellington Sept, 30, The Defence Minister has receirad a communication from Captain Hall Thompson, of the Philomel, which, as is generally known, is operating somewhtre east of £ue_.
Captain Hall Thompson reports that the following three members of the crew lOvSt their lives in action against the Turks on September 25:—George Phillips, chief petty officer; George Richard Talmay, leading seaman; Brace Sydney Bcagley, able seaman. AH were men of the Koyal Navy, Jent for service with the Philomel. The men died of heat stroke. They were on the strength of two Maxim gun crews landed from the ship to cooperate with the forces ashore.
