DARDANELLES.

TURKS ABANDON FORTIFIED POSITION.

Marvellous Activity of British

Submarines.

Rec Sept 25, 25 p m , Paris, Sept 24 Our artillery at the Dardanelles forced the Turks to abandon a fortified position in the Kerevesdere Valley. We bombarded Achi Baba and the Asiatic batteries under direction of our aviators, The Turkish artillery is capricious. For days the guus are silent, suggesting lack of ammunition, and then the bie suns buist forth without warno o ing. Onr troops liave abundant water. Our losses are not important. • The Tureo-Oerman aviators have not appeared for a considerable period, whilt our airmen make daily nights, resulting in effective bombardments of the Turkish headquarters and transports at the wharves. The activity of the Bri'rish submarines in the Sea of Marmora is marvellous The brave Allies iu the north zone fought an important engagement, which culminated in the junctioniug of troops at Anzac and Suvla Bay.
