Rec Sept 24, G 45 p in Paris, Sept 24 , The modification of die Russian frout, eastward of Vilua, has been sosucco3sful that the enemy is redoubling his effort against Dvinsk. The Germans are attacking from three sides, with heavy artillery, and are incessantly dropping bombs from aero planes. They are also usiug asphyxiating gases and are displaying persistent determination to precipitate events at Dvisisk. The Russians in the Fried richstadt district are carrying out an energetic offeiijjivo and made a great gap in the German lines, compelling General von Buelow's army to retreat.
