While workmen were exploding clyuaujito to remove rocks in a city subway construction tho concussion caused the pavements and aidewalls to cave iv, burying a street car, with scares uC womeu and meu proceeding to work. Heavy flows of water and gas threatened to drown or suffocate the iiDprisoued passengers, but the police and firemen entered a hole and rescued TO persons, badly iojurod, from the partly buried car. Seven persons were already dead.
