In the Kidman case, counsel for the Crown said figures would be produced showing that for certain contracts. £0,375 had been paid by Kidman for goods forwhich he received £11,205 tho, gross profits being £4,829, whereas if the increases ou the contract prices recommended by Major Page, on the ' ground that Kidman was losing mom y owing to the rise in prices of comtnodiitiee, had not beeu granted, tho prolits would have been £3,173.
