HOLMAN HOWLED DOWN.
Uproar at a Meeting
Rec. Sept. 17, 8.25 a.m. Sydney, Sept, 17. Mr Holman, State Premier, wlion speaking at at an election meeting at Crow's Nest, was howled down and was never able to proceed for more than three minutes owing to interjections. Mr Holman remarked that it was Stadium trouble over again. His statement regarding the Government's work in the wheat area and manufacture of munition^ was rooeiyed with applause by the milder Bectioo of the audience. . -
Theuproarwas terrific when a manstood up and asked: "Do you think it a fair dinkum thing for mon to volunteer when the Germans are employed in the public service?" Mr Holman promised to make a statement on Tuetsday, and said: VBwr aince the recruiting campaign fitartel there have been a lot of young shirkers looking for excuses, of which tbe German cry ia one. Anyone would think there were twenty five thousand Germans in positions." . An interjection <to the effect that there are not many Australians holdiug office in Berlin, caused another upheaval.
Throughout the meeting aitrong section was unmistakeilily hostile to Mr Holman.
