TAUKANGA V. WAIHI

A most enjoyable and interesting day was spent on the local range on Monday when a match was tired between the Waihi and Taurauga llifle Clubs.

As was expected there was some excellent shooting, and although no possibles were registered, quite a number of 'M's were made.

Kiileman Bridson of Tauranga club became tho hero of the hour with a score of 99, out of a possible 105 over tinee ranges. Luncheon and afternoon tea won; provided by the members of the local Club and after the match President Corncs'of the Waihi Club, in a very

enthusiastic speech, proposed the health of the Tauranga Hiile Club, at the same time thanking them for their hospitality and a good beating, promising to return the compliments at Waihi should hi* club be honoured with a visit from Tauranga riilemen. President Whiting suitably replied and pointed out the advantages of inter-club matches, intimating that he would take a team to Waihi at an early date. Cheers were given for the winners and the visitors, and thelatter left at £6.30 in Mr Henderson's hiunch^forjßoweutown. Tho best target for the day was ttriilson's 'M at GOO yards.

At the conclusion of the match a tie was iircd oft' between Riflemen Adams and Fooks for Captain Mimelees 1 trophy for which they tied on the 21st inst.
