HEREFORDS IN SOUTH AMERICA.
"Hereford breeders will be gratified at a little item of official intelligence which is just to hand from Bra/.X It is to the effect that the Brazil Land Cattle and Packing Company have come to the conclusion, after a long aeries of experiments, that Hereford cattle are best adapted for the climate of the country, and that they propose to import this year from -100 to 500 head of this strain. We do not suppose they will all come from this oountrv, but some of them should."
The "above paragraph, from a recent issue of the "North British Agriculturist," should be of interest to breedres of the "whitefaces"|in this country, where a number of high class herds, comprising strains of blood second to none in the world, have been established for a number of years. Owing to its climate and soil, New Zealand is admirably adapted to rear stock which can be sent to any temperature or subtropical climate wiih a guarantee that the constitution —an all-important quality in pedigree stock —will be sound.
