(Per Press Association.) Auckland,. August 7. The Auckland division of the British Medical Association after discussing- the epidemic at its monthly meeting last night passe<l the following* resolutions:—ol) "At the meeting of ihe Auckland division of the British Medical Association of August 0 it was unanimously I agreed that smallpox is at present epidemic in the community ;" (2) "Tlitii the most effective means of combating and eradicating the disea.se lay in universal vaccination.'' A telegram has been received stating that four new eases had been located at Poroti, about 17 miles from Whangarei. A new case has been reported from Otorohanga. An amplified report concerning the outbreaks at Kaihu and Kairara, near Dargaville, shows that the disease is much more widespread than was indicated iii telegrams from those centres.
