merit. The Chairmnn said the i fovmatioT would prove of interest to councillor?. --Revenue Voucher.— The Treasury forwarded voucher for 4:2 ]?,* (id, p-ymerit in terms of section iißt) of the Land Act, being half the balance at credit of the account as on March 31, 1913.
— Nguwaro-Te Puke Road.— The Public Works Department. Wellington, forwarded authority for expenditure of £-76 10s for the NgawaruTe Puke Road.
In reply to a question, the Clerk said he had not yet received a cheque from the Te Puke Road Board. — Kaimai Koad. — j The Matamata County Council inti- [ mated that as s(on as it receives its share of t c grant voted by the G"V ernmrnt la?t year for the Kaimfli Road for lauranga and Matamata Counties, it will carry out the work. —Straying Stock. — Mr H. J. Gill, Te Puke, wrote, under dute May 9, notifying that at a meeting of the Te Puke Branch of the Farmers' Union, it was resolved—"That in the opinion of this meeting it was desirable that all roads in the county should be kept clear of grazing stock, and that your Council should be respectfully asked to take steps to impound trespasser-." Another communication fom Mr Gill, dated May 31, was received, in which he stated that he hae been instructed by the committee of the Te Puke Farmers' Union to respectfully request the Council to consider the advisability of impounding all stock found grazing on county roads. Mr Gill concluded: 'In the opinion of this Union such a step would be in the best interests of rate payers."
It was decided to reply to the effect that in view of the likelihood of a poun.l being erected in the Te Puke district in the near future the Council considers it is not advisable for it to takfi any immediate steps in the matter.
—A Te Puna Road
Mr \V. Merrick, Omokoroa, wrote, on behalf o£ t the settlers of Te Puna
Point and others, asking permission
to lower tha present roid down to the landing for the purpose of easing the grade. The settlers offered to do the work free to the satisfaction of the county supervisor.
Cr. Spence moved — That the request be granted—Seconded by Cr. Southey and carried.
Motor Cars and Cycles.--
Michel in and Co. Proprietary, Ltd., Melbourne, wrote asking to be furnised with a list showing certain particulars of all motor cars and cycles registered in the county.—lnformation already supplied by the Clerk.
