FATALITIES
Hokitika, June 3
Thos. Moynihan, a farmer of Kokatahi, n recent atrival, \ibs killed whilst cuttinu; up a big pine tree. The deceased was engaged with two sons at the butt of a trep, the sons working un the limber. By seme means the trunk rolled over pinning Moynihan to the ground. He had to be dug out, but when this was accomplished life was extinct.
Dunedin. June 4
Maurice Flahine. a resident of Miltor,, was killed at Winsatui last evening. He had just left the racecourse siding, and had started to walk towards Mosgiel on the main line, when the second express from Dunedin to Invercargill came behind him, He failed to take notice of tb. whistles, and was struck by the traine death being instantaneous.
