At yesterday's meetir.;:'* of the Tauranga County Council, Cr. Southey moved—That the iol-owing be embodied in the by-laws of tho Council—That all moor cars and motor bikes, on meeting any conveyance, shall immediately .-stop, upon the driver or-any occupier of the £••• aid vehicle holding up his hand or if the horses' altiche.l to the s>vid conveyance appear in any way rostivo and shall not proceed until aU danger appears to b_ pver ; that all motor cars or n:ot-jr i.i'kw l.e;'<»i-e passing any conveyance shall notify the 'driver of the conveyance by whatever moans they possess and shall satisfy themselves .-.s far i.a possible that it is-safe to proceed before doing so ; that all . motor cars or mot 6* likes shall wiuiout exception take the outside p_rtirn of the road whetx desiring to |-ass _• any conveynnee in sidling cvi ting?;, 'if required. 'The .'notion "■« heco'.ded by Cr. 'Gray and carried. . * It was decided to consult Mi* .Sharp in regard to the f ranting of the by-law. Cr. Matthews said that the Council should ' take, steps to endea.vour to prevent motor ears using certain parts of the county roads. He moved —That the clerk write to the Patea County* Council for a copy of their by-law .on the subject.—Seconded by Cr.'Griflin and carried. Cr. Gray proposed—That a special meeting of the County Council beheld at 11.45 a.m. ou Tuesday, May 7, for the purpose of amending the Council's by-laws.—Seconded hy Cr. Southey and carried.
