BRIDGING THE HARBOR.
At the meeting of the County Council on Tuesday a communication was read from the Hon. R. McKenzie, Minister for Public Works, who acknowledged receipt of a letter forwarding for consideration a resolution passed at the last meeting of the Council, urging that when preparing plans for the railway bridge across Tauranga harbor provision should be made to attach thereto a traffic bridge for vehicles, and asking that a short line of road from the southern terminus of the bridge be constructed so as to join the main Tauraiiga-Te Puke road. Mr McKenzie said he is obtaining a report on the position of the matter, and will communicate with the Council so soon as same is received.
