A NARROW ESCAPE.
HAVANA, Oct. 23. Major-Geuoral Peno Guerra, commander of tlie l_'uhan army, has escaped assassination. Whi'e leaving ihe Presidential Palace, Havana, lie was seriously f-liot in the leg. The seutry wounded his assailant, who was captured. He was a member of the secret police.
