Pate a, Saturday.— she final returns are :— Heslop, Government, 968 ; Haselden, Opposition, 953 ; Remington, 567. A corrected return received this morning reduced Heslop's majority to six. Football fatality.^ Gisborne, Saturday. •«— Kirk, Captain of the Kaiate Football team, injured last Saturday by coming into collision with a mem. ber of his own team, died this morning. He belonged to Hamilton, Waikato.
