The trustees of the Wellington Hospital have decided that the head nurses shall be called ' Sisters,' and each shall have her Christian name worked on her cap. The trustees also resolve^ that nurses should be called 1 prMafioriers ' until they had passed the first course of lectures. The settlers at Mount Match ant, in the Woodville district, have had the young" graft* on their properties destroyod by grasshoppers this season, and some >i them have had to sow seed as much as three times over. The London Pavilion Music Hall Go. atands on velvet. *In eight years/ said the chairman at the last annual meeting, ' we have made sufficient profit to enable us to pay off the whole of the capital, and we still have an undivided profit of £11,150. £10,000 of that is reserve-fund, and the remainder carried forward.' The hdauc© eKvtt. declaring a 7 per cent div., was cordially accepted.
