The Sydney Dean case. Sydney, May 20.— Bofore tho Commission setupto consider Deai.'o case, a man named John Asprey, aged 70, found living in the bush at the Northshore, said that his attention had been called to the case on Saturday last and he clearly identified Mrs Seymour, mother of Mrs Dean, as his wife. In his evidence he declared that he mirried her at Hobart, where he, in 1850, bad tern transported for s^ven years o-. acnarge of stealing. They kept several pablic houses and lived happily for a time then row?, the resit of iealousy, ensued and finally his wife left him, taking with her the cash box and he had not seen her for the last twenty years. Some time before she cleared out he had twice suffered severely and the symptoms were those of arsenic poisoning. Afterwards he discovered the contents of a bottle of arsenic in the house which he had bought for the purpose of poisoning rats had mysteriously diminished.
