At Dorset not long ago a young man became involved in a quarrel with no less than five different men, and cjttallenged each oije ol them io* isortal combat. All accepted, and .ayeteup^the ground 'in time. Then' the hero oFthe fight said he wouldn't fight then* all,- but would fights the- best man' first. The five^ be^an discussing the question of who was the best man, and got to fighting. They struggled over the subject for about a quarter of an hour, the champion sitting on a log as umpire, and when the question was finely settled, the best man" could have been whipped by anybody and wasn't ready to fight. The challenger walked off with all the ; honours, and was proud and happy. . .
