The French in Siam.
j London, August I.— The Daily News correspondent at Bangkok says I that Admiral Huraann has issued an I order for a fresh blockade and has ordered the British ships Pallas and Swift to withdraw. It is feared^ that the French, intend to attack Bangkok and hold it as a guarantee. It is officially stated that Siam has agreed to give the guarantee demanded by France. j Bangkok, August I.— France demands that the Siamese shall evacuate Changtabong and southeast Bangkok, also that Siam shall keep no warships on the Mekhong. I Seven additional French warships have arrived ofiE Kosichang. Paris, August I.— Admiral Humaun is demanding the cession of Port Changtabong as a guarantee. Much alarm is felt in Bangkok in consequence. Pabis, August 2.— lt is officially announced that the blockade at Siam has been raised. The concessions made by Siam include half of Luang Prabang, on the Mekhong but no islands in the Gulf of Siam. Np Siamese forces are to be maintained at Battombang nor any warships to be kept on the Great Lake or on tbe Mekhong.
