THE STRANDED S.S. HAWEA.
WELuirGTOff, yesterday. A private teJegram from New Plymouth states that the Hawea is lying on sandy and rocky ground submerged to the poop rails at high water, and the combings, hatchway and awash at low water. She is inside the breakwater, 7Q fathom* from the wharf. It is thought by experts that she can be floated off if the condition of the bottom warrants the expense of recovery and repair.
