LETTER FROM MR McCANDLISH.
Mr Thomas Wrtgley received the following letter frofn Mr McCandlish by tho 'Frisco mail jbn Saturday. 36 Walbroik, London, 6th September, 1887. Thos. Wrigley, Esi, Dear Sir. — r regret very much that I am unable yetf to report any great progress in the Railway negotiations. The fact is that almost every business man is out of Lo/idpn during August, and this year owing to Parliament sitting well in to/September, many will not be back for .another month. However I hope very soon to have a meeting with a ve|y influential man to whom the business was introduced by Mr John Lee, and who appears to be favorably disposed towards it, and as I have put the matter before him free from any engagements to Directors, Promotors, Lawyers, Engineers, or Contractors, I [feel confident that if the affair can jbe done at all, it will be taken up byfthis gentleman and' his friends. Mr JLee you will probably see before this reaches you, as he sailed in the" Eimutaka " due at Wellington 10th October. Yours faithf ully, W. Parcels &c not exceeding lllbs in weight or 3ft 6in in length oan now be sent throughout New Zealand psr Parcel Post.
