THE CONCERT.

Tim Concert hi-M in the evening was well a( ton. led. :m«l passed off splendidly, under < lie able management of Mr Havstor. Mr Brabant, Chairman of the Commit t -\ took the eha»r and explained the purpose to which thd proceeds of the Concert would be devoted. IFo also referred in suitable terms and amit loud cheers, to the occasion of the Jubilee of the Queen. "God Save the Queen" having been sung by the company, Mrs McCandlish and Miss Brabant favored the audience -with a pianoforte duet. Mr Easson's fine voice was heard to advantage in "Steering; Home;" and he had to respond to an encore. Miss Lundon pleased the audience immensely w!th her grand rendition of ''Oh, don't tease me. Donald," and. had to respond to a recall. Mrs McCandlish's reading. ''Fogg's baby," was a* source of intense amusement, and Mr Watts' character song "brought down the house," and back he bad to come, with another of the same class. The con- 1 tribution of Misa Boss was sweetly oung. One of the last items on the programme was the flute solo by Mr ,T. Snodg-'nss. Mr Bonner tickled the feeling 3of his audience by his appearance as "Old Mother Gum," and of conr?e he had to return. The second part of the entertainment opened with a well executed duet on the piano by the Misses Home and Wrislev. Mr Harston saug very successfully** When Stormy "Winds do 8'.0w," and fMessi* Eassonand Parker had to respond to a recall for tbeir duet 'The Pilot Brave.' Mrs Rhodes sang very pleasingly "At the stile." ™'Mr Watts sang splendidly "Old England and the New" and had to reappear. Mr Gree gave a recitation m very good style, and Mr Fitzgerald caused no end of fun by "An Irisb Policeman." Mrs! Warbrick sang "Madoline" very ! nicely. The comic element again an- 1 peared in -'Once or Twice" by those | inimitable gentlemen in that line, Messrs Watts and Bonner. A sand jig by Mr Eitzgerald ended the programme and the audience sant; the "National Anthem" and called for three cheers for Mr Harston. The money collected at the door amounted to £13.
