TO THE EDITOR.
Sib, — One sad fact, in connection with the late eruption, is now observable and brings solemnly the loss of life sustained by th» European community. I refer to the six - newly formed graves now covering the remains of the late sufferers, and lying with others, in land appropriated as a cemetery for the township of Rotorua, but atill un«. ; fenced and .unprotected from desecration. I would therefore draw attention to thia eubject, through your columns,'' feeling certain that the authorities, on whom devolve the responsibility and completion of such fencing, will take the necessary; steps, and so avoid the remarks and reproaohes of visitors and strangers when passing the now neglected spot selected as God's Aore.— l am &c.
