Mr Sala has been so delighted with hjs reception on Wednesday evening that he intends returning to Auckland, and delivering more lectures' Mr. Herbert Aitnes made his first appearance before an Auckland audience last night at the Choral Hall , in a grand pianoforte recital. The , attendapcs was small, but the concert was excellent. The Artillery Band left to-day per Gairloch for New Plymonth en route for Wellington, to take part in the urn sical perf orb since at the Exhibition . ■ They intend giving concerts- at the principal towns on the west coast. Proceedings are threatened against the members of the "Board of Educa- ' tipn for paying £200 from the Educative Funds to the public Assignee, claimed by him on Peacocke's estate.
