ROTORUA.
Monday. James Robert Mcßeth wag brought up on remand to-day, before John Kerr, Esq., J.P., under the Vagrant Act. The prisoner made persistent attempts for further remand, but Constable Abrams objected on account of the serious charges of Vagrancy now before the Court.. He also pointed out that the prisoner had entirely failed to refute those charges. The Bench agreed with that riew and the previous sentence of 3 months at Mount Eden waa confirmed. The Biihop of "Waiapu had a good congregation last night. The Native Land Court at Taheke is ' proceeding most satisfactorily. The block of 25,000 acres is nearly through. The railway goes through , this block.
