AUCKLAND. "Wednesday. The death of Robert Graham yesterday morning caused much regret. The flags were hung at half-mast high. The funeral will take .place to-morrow at 2 o'clock. Waterhouse Nicholson, son of the late Dr Nicholson, was accidentally shot while alighting from the Helens-' ville train on Monday night. He had been out shooting with a party and the gun had not been discharged before entering the train. -A verdict of accidental death was returned by the jury, The railway authorities are taking proceedings against, the owner of the gun. The Oriental Fair during the three nights realised upwards of £600 and will be] continued for several nights. Official inquiry into the Wellington and Macgregor collision commenced to-day but has not concluded. The steamer Triumph leaves tonight for Sydney via Wellington, and will continue this trade. She has been fitted up for passengers and is under the command of Captain Fernandez. Mr Sheehan's return gives general satisfaction here.
