ST. PETERSBURGH, April 18.
It has transpired that in the late despatch General Komaroff announced that when Penjdeh and the forts in the neighbourhood were evacuated by the Afghans and the latter fled to Herat he deemed it expedient to place Penjdeh under temporary Russian administration.
SUAKIM, April 18. A messenger has arrived with a letter to General Graham from the chiefs of the Arnaray |tribe, offering a force of 5,000 men to join the British against Osman Digna.
