ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

A meeting of the committee of the Tauranga Acclimatisation Society took place yesterday, Captain Evered, R.N., in the chair. Captain Kerr, R.N., Messrs Reay, Duthie, and G. Gardiner (secretary) were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were r'<?ad and confirmed. Correspondence was rdad and approved. The following letter was road from the Opotiki Farmers' Clvb — Opotilri Farmers' Club, 17th March, 1885. The President Tauranga Farmers' Club and Acclimatisation Society. Sir, — I have the honor, by direction of the Farmers' Club here, to request you to decide on having the dividing line between the two Societies fixed, and that the boundary should be the County boundary, and hope your Society may see the justioe of this, as there ■would be no encroachment from one County on the other. Awaiting your reply, I have, Wx. H. English, Secretary. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Opotiki Farmers' Club, stating that this Society would carry out the wishes expressed by the people of Whalcaiane and Matata. Proposed by Captain Kerr, seconded by Mr Reay, that the accounts be passed for payment. Carried. Proposed by Captain Kerr, seconded by Mr Duthie, that this Society purchase from Mr G. Gardiner the tame doe belonging to him, and that the animal be liberated with the young deer belonging to the Society. The Secretary laid on the table the New Zealand Gazette containing the official announcement of date for tho shooting season.
