SYDNEY, April 15. The Government G-azette contains a proclamation stating that on and after Tuesday next, the Western Channel of Port Jackson will be closed to all vessels, in order that measures may he taken for the better protection of Sydney harbour.
MELBOURNE, April 15 "Works on the forts for the protection of the Bay are progressing rapidly.
A project is on foot to form a militia corps of Germans resident in Melbourne.
ADELAIDE, April 15. Government intend establishing patrol service in the Gulf of St. Vincent, to give warning of the approach of hostile vessels.
Measures are being taken for the protection of Port Glenelg.
