Monday.
Professor Kirk, who is now in this district inspecting forests on behalf of the Government with the view of ndopting a plan for their conservation, leaves for Wellington to commence the inspection of the North Island.
At the inquest on Henry MoKegney, who was killed .on Saturday whilst felling a tree, a verdict of accidental death was returned.
John Wilson, alias Coherrn, has been committed for trial at the Supreme Court for rape on a girl nine years and three months old.
