If he pause for a moment, a dirty young imp, With his ink -besmeared features with linen all limp, Glares in through the doorway, and, grinning with glee, Snuffles out a demand for *' move leader copce." The scissors, the gum brush, the pencil of blue, Lie idle awhile and have nothing to do ; There are "locals" and "flimsy " enough for the guage ; But it's " loader" that's wanted to fill up tho page. So through the long night doth tho editor sit, And keep pace with tho "ooinps," who demand bit by bit ; Till at length, all exultant, as daylight is He concludes with a flourish, and dots his last "i." But oft in his dreams, whoh. ho reaches his bed, Thick clouds of close folio float round his head ; The imp's urging queyy resounds though his brain, And in fancy he goes through his " loaders "' again. Say, who'd be n.u editor, drowsy and glum, To nocturnally toil for the life-giving cvumb ; To daily indulge in vain longings to lleo From the j»r»v»i> of the demon — the demon "Copco!"
