TELEPHONE ETIQUETTE.

The cover of tho new London Telephono Directory calls attention to the preface, in which two pages are devoted to "How to Use the Telephone Service." When answering a call the subscriber should announce his identity at once: If a private house: (a) "Mr John Brown speaking"; or (b) "Mr John Brown's house," if someone else speaks for Mr Brown. If a business house: (a) "Brown and Co" ; or (b) Brown and Co., Mr John Brown speaking." A further direction reads: "If in any case it is necessary to refer the caller to some other person in . your establishment, inform this person who the caller is and what is his business."
