LORD RHONDDA'S MISSION.

Addressing a meeting in MidRhondda on March 24, Lord Rhondda (President of the Local Government Board) said he was going to concentrate his energies on two matters'of urgent importance. One was a Bill relating to venereal disease and the other related to child welfare. A great deal of infantile mortality could be avoided by looking after tho health of mothers, advising them, and providing milk for the children. He also hoped to "deal with thediousing problem before he left office. If ho could be instrumental in saying the lives of 20,000 to 30,000 children per annum he should feel that he had not lived in vain.

Replying to an address, Lord Khondda said he returned to political life because lie deemed it his duty to help the Premier, who had undertaken a terriblo responsibility. He did not believe anyone wa-e »o well qualified to lead us to victory as Mr Lloyd George. The new system of government was working exceedingly well.
