London, August Bth Mr John Tann, ii, Newgale Street, E\C, Sir, —We gratefully acknowledge that the two " Anchor Reliance " Safes of your make, which contained our Ledgers and other books, during the fire at 48, Old Bailey on Tuesday last, the 4th inst., when our premises were totally destroyed, have proved most satisfactory. In spite of the terrific heat, which melted the brass fittings on the outside of the Safes, every letter and figure in our Ledgers, etc., are thor< oughly preserved, and a parcel in tissue paper in one of the drawers was not even discolored.
