Late Commercial.
Donald Reid and 00. (Limited) report :— We held our weekly auction sale of .grain ftad produce at our stores today. There was a gook attendance of buyers, and prices -generally were on a par with late values, Oafca — There is fair .demand for prime milling and bright feed lines. Medium quality has little attention from buyers, and it is impossible to effect Bales of any importance. Inferior lines have had rather more I attention from a small section of buyers. We quote : Prime milling 2s 8i to 2s 9d, good to best feed 2s 6d to 2s Bd, medium 2a 3d to 2s sd, inferior Is 9d to 2s 2d per bushel (sacks extra) Wheat— All lines of good to prime milling on offer are readily taken ab quotations. Medium quality, which, for some time, has only been saleable as fo»l wheat, is having mare attention from millers. Fowl wheat is scarce, and any good, sound lines are readily placed at reoord values. We quote : Prime milling 5s 6d to 5s 7d, good ditto 5s to 63 Ad, medium 4a 6d to 4a lOd, best whole fowl wheat 4a 4d to 4s 6d, medium 4a to 4s 3d, inferior and damaged 3s 6d io 4s per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes— S applies coming forward for some days have been somewhat in excess of local requirements, and in view of the quantities now oh offer,- values have suffered a sudden decline. Vendors are not disposed to hold consignments, although a clearance of present stocks will probably result in values, being reestablished. We quote : — Best Derwents £6 15a to £8, medium and other sorts £6 to £6 10s per ton (bags in.) Chaff -Prime oaten sheaf is in short supply and meets with strong, enquiry at prices showing an advance on late values. Good quality also meets with ready sale, but for inferior sorts there is little enquiry. We quote :— Prime oaten sheaf £5 to £5 15b, medium to good £4 5a .to £4 15s, inferior and straw chaff £2 5s to £3 JQs per ton (bags
